L Sahar & D. Driscoll:  Title: “Developing a census tract level Deprivation Index to identify areas of focus for Cancer Control programs”.     We present the process of developing a Deprivation Index (DPI) which includes socio-economic variables that align with organizational needs and goals. We used GIS and statistical analysis methods to reduce the number of socio-economic variables and develop an index. Variables were obtained at the census tract level to assist in more accurately defining areas of need.
